PeakView Solutions is proud to recognize the outstanding achievements of several University of Arizona College of Engineering Capstone teams that received awards during the 2026 Capstone Design Showcase.
Each year, Capstone teams work with industry sponsors to develop practical solutions to real-world challenges. This year’s projects addressed issues ranging from telecom infrastructure and sustainability to disaster relief and industrial maintenance.
Several projects supported by PeakView Solutions and our industry partners were recognized for their innovation and impact:
IEEE Tucson Section Award for Best Use of a Sensor

LiDAR-Camera Fusion for Telecom Infrastructure Mapping and Inspection
This project explored the use of integrated LiDAR and camera technologies to improve the mapping, inspection, and documentation of telecom infrastructure. By combining multiple data sources, the team developed a solution with potential applications in network planning, maintenance, and field operations.
Bly Family Award for Innovation in Energy Production, Supply, or Use – First Prize

Plastic Recycling, Carbon Capture, and Disaster Relief Through Pyrolysis (Year 2)
Focused on sustainability and disaster response, this project investigated innovative approaches to converting plastic waste into usable resources while supporting carbon reduction efforts. The team’s work demonstrated how engineering solutions can address both environmental and humanitarian challenges.
PeakView Solutions Award for Best Design for Practical Maintenance & Repair

Automated Coolant Monitoring and Refill System
Sponsored by RBC Sargent Aerospace & Defense, this project was recognized for incorporating maintainability and serviceability into the design process. The solution demonstrated how thoughtful engineering can reduce maintenance effort, improve reliability, and enhance long-term operational performance.
PeakView Solutions would also like to thank the University of Arizona Capstone Program, faculty advisors, industry sponsors, and all participating students whose dedication and creativity made these projects possible.
Supporting future engineers and practical innovation has always been important to our team. We believe that investing in education, collaboration, and real-world problem solving creates lasting value for industries, communities, and the environment.
Congratulations to all of this year’s Capstone teams on their accomplishments and well-deserved recognition.
